If Memory Surfs: A book for healing
When Memory the seal survives a Bad Thing and an injury, she knows life will never be the same again. Recovering at the Rescue Center, she meets three friends, each healing from wounds of their own. When it comes time for her to surf the waves again, she freezes up from fear. But if she doesn’t surf back over the other side of Danger Reef, she will never get home to her family again. Will Memory’s fear get the best of her, or will she find strength in the memories of her new friends, helping her to surf over Danger Reef freely and happily once again?

Claire's Coyote Friends
(Who Chains You Publishing)
"... an insightful and engaging children's book about North America's 'song dog' that will help young readers better understand the need to protect these very special wild dogs. Revered by native Americans, coyotes are playful and intelligent and essential to the health of the ecosystems they inhabit, and yet they are among the most persecuted predators in North America. This book, beautifully illustrated by Mary Jo Helchowski, invites readers to consider the promise of compassionate co-existence with our wild dog neighbors."
- Carol Misseldine, Senior Director of Outreach & Engagement at The Humane Society of the United States
