Wow, has it really been ten months since I've updated this blog?! I stink!

I'm excited to announce that I'm working on a second book for the Paulie the Piping Plover series. This book will published by FreedomChaser Books, and is expected to be out by next summer.

In addition, FreedomChaser is in the process of putting out a new edition of the original book - which will now become 'Book One' of the piping plover series.

When I wrote Paulie the Piping Plover, I wasn't expecting it to have series potential. I wasn't particularly opposed to writing a series; it just wasn't on my mind either way. But for some time now, Sarah the Sea Turtle has been nipping at the edges of my mind with a story of her own.

So, the trio will be getting together again, with a new story and message. And maybe even a new friend!

Stay tuned!

I'm excited to announce that I will be co-facilitating a pet loss support group through the mental health initiative Bridging Rainbows! I had recently connected with the organization's founder, Dr. Kuhu Roy, through mutual connections within the animal writers and pet loss support communities.

Other Bridging Rainbows projects in the works include a documentary, shot bI'my Leading Lines Digital, about stray dogs in India; and a memoir, 'Delma, an ode to a senior stray dog,' and a collection of short stories, 'Tales of homing the un-homed.'

I will be posting more about all of Bridging Rainbows' projects as they unfold. In the meantime, check out the organization's site!

Fellow WCY author, Sandy De Lisle, recently co-wrote and produced a movie: You're OUT! You're OUT! is a "modern-day National Lampoon's Vacation--with baseball. And a dog hero."

As a contributor this project, my dogs, Paulie and Jetty, will be getting an IMDb film credit! (Alas, my dream of becoming a 'stage mom' is being realized....)

What excites me most about this venture is the message it promotes that all dogs, regardless of breed or life background, deserve a happy home.

More to come soon! In the meantime, check out the pitch below. (I was very honored to meet these actors at a table read I attended last week!)
